This story has never been told. It is about the Golden State Manufactured Home Owners League (GSMOL), the oldest, strongest, most successful, and most influential pro-mobilehome owner organization in California. Our initial purpose was to document historical events, primarily over the last thirty years, to provide the homeowner community with a detailed review of GSMOL’s performance; however, we uncovered a three-decade conspiracy to deceive homeowners across California. If not for this investigation, it would have been the perfect crime. The Great Deception has all the elements of a mystery/crime novel; however, it is based on fact, documented throughout the book. It will bring to light information that few have seen. There are victims (everyone who owned a mobilehome or manufactured home, beginning from the late 1980s), and perpetrators.
